Operational - The Smartphone Application

The smartphone application.

The App. Icon

As part of our goal of making our service 24/7 available, we thought a small application that operates on smartphones would be an easy reachable way for them to get to our services whenever they want and wherever they were.

The application would be very user friendly, all a customer would need is; a customer account which he can sign up for either from the company website or the application itself and most certainly an internet connection.

The very first page that would show up would look like the screenshot on the left. It will have the application icon and two fields for the user to fill in, the name, and the password. Of course the user doesn’t have an account s/he can click on the link below to sign up.

The sign up page of the application is even simpler. The user can choose a display name which s/he can remember easily to be able to sign in.

Then the user would have to fill in the first and last name, the address as to where the customer lives so the orders can be delivered there.

The user can fill in two phone numbers just in case the order was urgent and the company needed to contact the customer about it.

An active Email address would be needed so the account can be verified.

The two buttons on the top are made to make it easy for user. The clear button would erase the fields and the done button is for the customer to click once s/he is done filling out the information.

A confirmation email would be sent for the customer to verify and once the verification is done the user’s account is added to the company database and s/he will be taken care of as an official customer.

Once the customer starts placing orders everything would be automatically added to the customer’s records in the company’s database. Any comments or complaints will also be added to the customer’s records.

Another part of our service is receiving conformation of delivery text message. It is an optional service that customers can specify from their accounts. A text message is sent to the customer’s phone notifying him/her that the delivery has been made at the specified time on the specified date.

This way both the customer and the company can be aware when each order was placed and had been safely delivered since everything is kept in the database timely allowing 99.9% error-free on the company’s part. Any other error would most likely be human error on customer’s part or employees.
